Transferring files to another computer on my home network?
Heliocentric asked:
I just got a new laptop and I’d like to transfer a lot of files from my old one onto it. Is there a way to do this directly by connecting them both to our wireless network?

you could use limewire or another application like it. I’m guessing that you don’t have an external harddrive; so that would be the fastest way to transfer your files. Hope this helps ya
do ipconfig on your one laptop and then go to another laptop and do run -> \\
First you have to share the files that you want to transfer that is done by right clicking the folder that the file is in and clicking properties.
After that you go to the sharing tab and you click share this folder on the network.
Next, you click start—-search——computers or people—-a computer on the network.
From their you should see a list of computers. Select the computer that you want to transfer files to and then drag the files and they will be on the other computer.
Note: To transfer files you must share the folder using the instructions I gave you on both pc’s the one you want to transfer files to and the one you are transferring files from.
